As a registered Lloyd’s broker, we have direct access to a unique pool of underwriting experience in the global marketplace. This means we are able to negotiate the most favourable terms for those clients who require specialist, innovative and bespoke risk solutions.
Ireland
Our acquired brand MBC Insurance has been established for over 35 years, specialising in business and technology insurance for the Irish market, including Techinsure.ie.
Our Irish broker's primary objective has always been to make the most suitable insurance products available to our clients, and aiming to ensure these same products operate effectively at the time of a claim.
Continental Europe
Following the success and growth of the Clear Group in the UK and Ireland, Clear Management Europe (CME) was established in 2023, in the next phase of our long-term growth strategy.
Building out our presence across the continental European markets, CME is open to the acquisition of large, medium-sized and smaller insurance brokers, underwriters, agencies and teams that focus on brokering in the area of commercial and industrial insurance.
Wholesale
Lilley Plummer’s expansion into new lines and territories underlines the quality and capability of its team of thirty-eight staff, under the leadership and vision of CEO Stuart Lilley and Managing Director Dan Plummer.
Clear expanded their presence in the wholesale space when they acquired LPR in October 2024.

Our Managing General Agent (MGA) capability, Shape Underwriting, is a specialist service that spans the UK and Ireland to help steady the client journey.
Shape Underwriting was created to deliver a competitive underwriting solution to brokers. It unifies the history and experience of Profile Underwriting and One Commercial Specialty, both acquired by the Clear Group in 2023.
It operates with a nationwide presence and work according to strict principles of transparency. Shape Underwriting is a full member of the Managing General Agents Association (MGAA) and a Lloyd's approved coverholder.
Our MGA proposition is a core pillar of our growth journey as it provides a broader range of capabilities for our clients and broker connections.

Thomond Underwriting
Thomond Underwriting is a commercial insurance MGA, first established in 2007, serving both the Northern Irish and Republic of Ireland markets. They offer a wide range of products including Liability, Property Owners, Commercial Material Damage and BI, Contractors All Risks, PA and Illness, Surety Bonds and Cyber. Thomond have offices in Enniskillen and Dublin. Thomond is a member of the MGAA and a Lloyds cover holder. They work exclusively with broking partners across Ireland and beyond, writing on high quality A-rated paper.
Accelerate Underwriting
Accelerate Underwriting is an MGA who underwrites non-standard, specialist and niche commercial products, including care homes, guest houses, unoccupied properties, boats and pleasure craft. The business has access to both Lloyd's and non-Lloyd's capacity and currently insures more than 160,000 businesses and individuals. Accelerate writes the bulk of its business through its AcceleRATER, an online trading platform specifically designed to create and transact non-standard insurance business.

Brokertech
Based in Maidstone, Brokertech specialises in developing scheme solutions for MGAs, brokers, underwriters and syndicates. Its modern cloud-based platform provides SaaS Insurance solutions to clients, helping brokers to manage their insurance business. Brokertech writes over £100m of premium annually across three continents for clients large and small. It offers wholesale, B2C and back-office applications at highly competitive pricing and it’s API architected infrastructure is able to integrate with other back office or customer journey applications. With its unique approach to build, products can launch efficiently in under six weeks.
