CLEAR are delighted to be sponsoring the Cockpit Bursary scheme for another year to help showcase and support upcoming businesses within the arts and crafts industry.

About the Cockpit CLEAR Bursary

This award is designed for makers in any area who have been in business for less than three years. The Cockpit CLEAR bursary will include one year of business support and subsidised studio space at Cockpit, as well as an insurance package from ourselves.

This is a match-funded place for one year worth £2,500 (the successful applicant will match this award by paying £2,000 over 12 months). Therefore, the total value of £4,500 will cover the cost of studio space and support services that the awardee will receive.

Benefits included in the Cockpit CLEAR Bursary

  • Studio space for one year within the creative community at Cockpit Bloomsbury (WC1N) or Cockpit Deptford (SE8)
  • An insurance package with CLEAR Insurance Management Ltd
  • Business support/acceleration services including on-site coaching and workshops
  • Selling/promotional opportunities including two annual Cockpit Open Studios events

Eligibility criteria for the Cockpit CLEAR Bursary

Applicants are required to have:

  • Been in business for less than three years
  • To commit to taking up the Bursary and developing their practice for the full duration of the Bursary
  • To commit to attending Cockpit’s Induction Day and set of ‘Make It Count’ workshops
  • To arrange and pay for their own public liability (minimum £5m) and contents insurance prior to the start date
  • To be currently living in the UK and entitled to remain in the UK for the period of the Award. (Cockpit is not able to sponsor or support visa applications in any way)
