CLEAR’s chairman, Paul Druckman, is presented with IFAC’s Global Leadership Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Accountancy Profession

We are delighted to announce that the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) has presented Paul Druckman, Chairman of the Clear Group, with its Global Leadership Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Accountancy Profession. The IFAC announced the award during its virtual council meeting, held on 10 and 11 November 2021.

A career devoted to market reform and sustainability

As well as Chairman of the Clear Group, Paul Druckman is also Chairman of the World Benchmarking Alliance. This non-profit organisation launched in 2018 to develop and implement transformative benchmarks that enable companies to gauge their efforts towards a sustainable future for everyone.

Prior to this, Paul held several other influential positions, including President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW); Chairman of The Prince's Accounting for Sustainability Project (A4S) Executive Board; and Board Member and Chairman of UK accounting standards through the UK government regulator, the Financial Reporting Council (FRC). He was also the founding CEO of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC).

As a passionate advocate for capital market reform, Paul has worked tirelessly throughout his career to bring about meaningful and positive change in corporate governance and reporting. His achievements in this field have ensured that business practices internationally are more responsible and transparent and that environmental sustainability issues are now treated as priorities.

Campaigning for a more sustainable world

'I am delighted that Paul has received the IFAC Global Leadership Award this year,' said President of IFAC Alan Johnson. 'While his roots are as a chartered accountant, his entrepreneurial spirit and drive have led him to a very successful career within the profession, one which we all benefit from through his insights into important emerging fields, such as technology and sustainability. Given the commitments by world leaders at COP26, Paul's vision for a sustainable world on which he has been campaigning for many years is hopefully now in sight.'
