The number of ransomware attacks continues to rise

The number of ransomware attacks has increased by 435% in the past year alone, with the average recovery costs for businesses and organisations affected reaching £1m. (Source: https://nexstor.com/cyber-security-threats/)

The probability and impact associated with the threat of a ransomware attack is significant and the risk should not be underestimated.

What exactly is ransomware?

Ransomware is a form of malware (malicious software) that uses encryption to hold the victim’s digital information at ransom. An organisation can therefore be unable to access data such as files and databases, with cybercriminals demanding a ransom to release the data.

A ransomware attack can be extremely debilitating to a business or organisation and is a growing threat, causing significant damage and expenses for those affected.

This webinar is a great opportunity to learn more about the potential dangers of ransomware and what businesses can do to mitigate the risks.
