CLEAR annual golf day at the drift – 6th September 2018

On Thursday 6th September, we hosted our annual golf day to thank clients, insurers and associates for their custom and assistance during the past 12 months.

Once again we were blessed with fantastic weather and great golf playing. Here's a summary of how the day went and some photos of the day:

Fundraising for Cancer Research UK

We are delighted to announce that we raised a total of £850 for Cancer Research UK at the event.

Our fundraising activities on the day included an auction for a golfing 4 ball at Bowood Golf Course, which was kindly donated by Open GI. This was won by our Chairman Paul Druckman with his bid for £400. On top of this, we raised £450 in voluntary cash donations by carrying out a “Heads& Tails” competition to win a 4 ball round at The Drift – which Finbar Weir, from our property team, won.

Prizes awarded

Prizes were awarded to the following players on the day:

  • Bruno Cernecca from Vini Italiani Limited for Shot of the Day.
  • Nearest the pin went to Gavin Dollings from Covea.
  • Nearest the pin in 2 shots went to Lewis Robinson from AIG.
  • Longest drive was Alex Rickett from The Planning Guys Ltd.

The team prizes were:

  • 3rd prize went to the Aston Villa team; Neil Willis, Phil Sweeting, Sam Murphy and Sam Berg.
  • 2nd place was the West Ham team; Colin Donnellon, Finbar Weir, Steve Baker & Liam Tydeman.
  • 1st place was won by the Newcastle team; Rob Cooke, Chris Harris, Gary Lawrenson & Dan Wade.

Special Thanks

We would like to say a special thank you to the following; The Drift Golf Club for their wonderful hospitality, the lovely barbecue and the excellent condition of the golf course. This all made for a great day.

Mark Kerswell from CLEAR for doing such a fantastic job organising the event and Harry Woodrow, Maddy Harris and Lianne Bayne from CLEAR for assisting on the day.

Open GI for donating the 4 ball at Bowood Golf Course and the Drift Golf Club for donating their own golfing 4 ball, enabling us to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

All in all everybody had a great time, and we are looking forward to hosting the event again next year.
