The Countdown Begins for our CLEAR Runnings Marathon Team

The countdown has officially begun for our ‘CLEAR Runnings’ Marathon team, as they get set to run the London Marathon this Sunday, 22nd April.

Our brave team members have been fundraising for some very worthwhile causes – Tommy’sMind and Children with Cancer – and have already raised a staggering £16,400 via their team JustGiving page.

This week, we caught up with three of our team members to find out how their training has been going, and here is what they said:

Sam Cheshire

“This weekend I organised an event, which was a massive success.

I raised £930 on Entry and Raffle Tickets, and a further £312.50 on a blind auction of a signed Palace shirt.

The quiz was won by a team from my secondary school, and the top prizes of the raffle were both won by our own Sharon Innalls – 27 bottles of alcohol & four tickets to the Aviva Premiership Rugby Final at Twickenham (donated by Jo Conran). I raised a total of £1,750 so far, just got the small task of running 26 miles!”

Katie Magri

“I was really hating the running a few months ago but now its next week I am actually quite excited, I know on Sunday that I will turn to nerves!

Hoping my foot and shins hold out as I have had a few problems with them recently.

Looking forward to a LARGE Vodka once I finish!“

Deniz Djemal

“To be honest at the moment I’m very excited/eager for Sunday to hurry up and be here rather than any nerves setting in yet.

Officially registering yesterday certainly helped to “pump up” the adrenaline and made it all VERY real!

The crowd was mixed at registration yesterday, as you would expect, with some experienced pros (who you could tell are very used to the pressure/situation) providing some guidance/advice and some first-time runners who looked a bag of nerves!

Everyone from CLEAR seemed to really enjoy themselves and are now, even more than before, buzzing for the big day.

ROLL ON SUNDAY!”

On behalf of everyone at CLEAR, we would like to wish our runners the best of luck on Sunday.

We are exceptionally proud of all the hard work and dedication they have given to their training and for raising such an incredible amount of money for three worthwhile causes.

Go get ‘em CLEAR Runnings!
