Successful applicants will also benefit from a range of leadership development opportunities designed to enhance their career potential and help them stand out from the crowd.

Each New Generation group - claims, underwriting, broking and the London market - will drive exciting new projects to help improve customer outcomes and the insurance profession as a whole.

To join, applicants need to send in their CV plus a few lines about why they consider themselves to be a rising star in the profession.

Keith Richards, chief membership officer of the CII, said: “The CII’s New Generation programme always attracts individuals with fresh perspectives and insight into the way the profession currently works and how it can change to ensure it remains relevant to consumers.

“The programme is a great opportunity for rising stars to acquire skills to help them climb to the top of the profession and improve the way it delivers for the public in the years to come.”

The CII New Generation programme is designed to complement existing company talent programmes, the year-long programme will provide group members with a range of learning opportunities, including:

  • An interactive session with key personnel from regulatory bodies
  • Talks from Members of Parliament and lobbying organisations in the insurance sector
  • Training on subjects such as leadership and handling the media

Each group will also be asked to identify and complete a project that it believes could make a different to the insurance and then present this to the board. The project element typically takes around six months to complete and involves collaboration amongst the different group members.

Speaking about the programme, CLEAR’s Head of Digital Sales and Marketing and CII Advisory Board Member Ajay Mistry, said: “This is a great opportunity for insurance professionals to take their career in the industry to the next level.

“The CII New Generation Programme provides fantastic networking opportunities and the chance to develop your leadership skills and enhance your career potential.
