Stephanie has been awarded a match funded place at Cockpit Arts Holborn for one year, worth £2,500. including; Studio space for one year, business and professional development services and an insurance package from CLEAR.

Stephanie is a ceramicist who uses diverse approaches, inspired and influenced by her professional dance and performance experience. Stephanie was delighted to win the award and here’s what she said:

“ I am delighted to be the recipient of The Cockpit Arts / Clear Insurance Award 2018, and I take up my studio space within the uniquely creative environment at the Deptford site with much enthusiasm and anticipation. It comes at an interesting point in my creative practice. Having gained some experience since graduating from Central Saint Martins (2015) I am now looking towards opportunities to expand my ambitions as an exhibiting artist. This includes the potential for collaborating with other artists of different mediums, exploring further how performance might continue to develop within my ceramics practice, both as large-scale installation and more collectable pieces.”

The award also includes an insurance package from CLEAR, who continue to show their commitment to supporting creative businesses, having run The Clear Insurance Scheme for Craft Workers & Designer-makers since November 2002. The scheme has proved enormously beneficial to the UK craft community by providing an affordable insurance package tailored specifically to the needs of designer-makers.

Howard Lickens, CLEAR’s CEO, was pleased to comment  “CLEAR is delighted to be involved in this award, which supports designer-makers such as  Stephanie Buttle and we hope that in winning this award she will be provided with the support she needs to make her business a great success.”
