After Months of Training for The London Marathon, CLEAR’s Team Hits the Ground Running

Even as temperatures soared, CLEAR’s intrepid runners pushed on through the heat to make it across the finishing line at this year's London Marathon.

Despite it turning out to be the hottest London Marathon on record, all of CLEAR’s entrants made it across the finishing line, with Stewart Ruffles pipping Katie Magri to the post as the first of our marathon runners to complete the race, by just seven minutes.

Den Djemal, unfortunately, developed a problem with his hamstring muscle in the last few miles and had to stop repeatedly to stretch, but despite the obvious discomfort he battled on, undeterred, to come in third.

Paul Harte, who had clearly underplayed his running prowess and training ahead of the race, romped home in fourth place while Brent Escott, our oldest runner, breezed around the course, crossing the finishing line in fifth place.

Without a doubt, taking part in the London Marathon is a significant achievement, but even more so when your team is running in such high temperatures and humidity. So, everyone at CLEAR is justifiably proud of each and every one of our athletes for completing the course.

Our marathon runners, however, did more than just take part in this world-renowned race. Through a combination of individual fundraising, a quiz night and a generous contribution from CLEAR, their effort, dedication, and resolve also managed to raise a phenomenal £33,000 for charity.
